Get in to DaBoO's mind :)
by srs[razer]DaBoO 2 years ago (7.86 based on 14 ratings | 96 views)Hello you guys!
I'm trying to make a weekly blog about tactics, strategies, team srs, live streams and more. :)
Already sorry for my bad English but I hope you guys can understand.
General tips
First of all the problem of for most Zergs is that you put all your units in one control group and the problem is when you put all units in one they’ll end up stacking. This makes it hard to micro against AoE just because they all stack and consequently a storm will hit 1/2 of your army, similar you’ll suffer the same problem against a Colossus. Not only that, but you’ll have issues flanking armies also.
The best thing to do is to put units in three groups because if they attack they’ll see units coming from three sides and use random storms instead of storms on stacking units. So your units are not as exposed in multiple control groups as they are in one.
Another tip on grouping - if you put Infestors in the same group as your attack units they will just walk into the enemy's army because they can’t melee or attack from range so they’ll die before you can even cast spells so always watch that.
Another point I want to talk about is conceding enemies. I mostly see Zerg players put all units in the middle but you need to put three groups of units in front of the base i.e. one top, one bottom and one middle. The good thing in this situation is that you know when your enemy is coming out or if he is expanding. So basically you know everything you want to know and you got map control. You can expand whenever you want, wherever you want and how you want. So you’ll end up getting much advantage in late game.
That’s a little about inside the game!
Units & Counters
What I see happen a lot when people are making Thors they think they can counter it with Hydralisks because of the long range but think about it, Thor does 45 damage in 1 shot but a Thor does 2 shots so it does instantaneous 90 damage ensuing that a Hydralisk dies from 1 shot. Roach got 135 hp so think about it, they need 4 shots, or 2 attacks, so it takes a lot longer to bring down a roach. As a bonus the Roach had good damage, is cheap and is a tier one unit.
Same goes for the colossus, two attacks and the hydra is roasted like BBQ meat but roaches hold of much, much longer so don’t just go auto hydra VS heavy units, think about the small things to. And then when they lose they are like “imba Thors”, “imba Colossus” or “imba storm” and of naturally Hydralisks die faster to storm than roaches and if you use burrow correctly on roaches they are much stronger and it’s a really good meat wall.
Mostly when I see a robotic with Colossus and Immortal people go spire and that is a good thing but they go Corrupters instead. They do more damage against Colossus but they can only attack the Colossus, if you go Mutalisks instead you’ll get a bigger army simply because they’re cheaper in both minerals and gas. Their attack also bounces so you’ll hit multiple units and storm is fairly easy to avoid with Mutalisks. If you go tier 3 when going Corrupters you can get Broodlords quite easy, but it’s hard to get that far if you don’t have Mutalisks pushing the enemy back.
I think I’ll keep it this way and if you have questions or things you want to know just PM me comment bellow.
Have a nice sunny day and I hope you enjoyed it.
